Hi everyone, I am back from my blogging break!

Apologies for the delay in posting, I did say I would be back on my blog at the beginning of December 

Santa's on his way!

Hi everyone, here is my latest stitchery, it is a free design from Bronwyns Blog over at Red Brolly, she really has some gorgeous freebies on her blog. I downloaded this Santa design and these three others, I think they are all so cute! The Santa design has been stitched using wadding in between the top fabric and the base fabric to give it a quilted look.

I traced the design using this fine tip pen that works beautifully on fabric, (see photo below) it is a permanent marker.

Finished the beaded scissor fob and free cross stitch pattern

 Free Pattern for Cross stitch fob

Hi everyone, I have finished the beaded Scissor Fob or Christmas Tree Ornament that I started last week, it is a real quick stitch if you wanted to make this as a gift for a friend, you could finish this in a couple of evenings. 

I was going to put a tassel on the end but did not have enough green thread remaining, I used DMC stranded cotton threads and Mill Hill gold glass beads.

The reverse side is exactly the same design.

The free pattern is now available for you below and you can see how to make a scissor fob by checking out this tutorial on my finishing  blog.

Just right click on the pattern and click "save as" to your computer.

Other stitching news      

I have finally finished the Peacock Box, gosh I did procrastinate on this one but I am pleased with the result! I will be posting the pictures for this and the accessories that I have made over the next few weeks.

This is a box lid cross stitch to match the scissor fob, if you like the pattern I will make this available also, just ask!

Hi everyone, I thought I would publish the cross stitch pattern for the ornament I showed in this previous post here, I have provided the free cross stitch pattern here for this christmas tree ornament.

 

There are no finishing instructions for this yet but when I locate them I will ensure I post them for you. I have the magazine somewhere but I cannot locate it at the moment.

Christmas Cross Stitch Ornaments, progress on Covered Box and free cross stitch design stitched.

 

 

 

Hi everyone, here are a couple of my Christmas cross stitch ornaments that I have been stitching, the one on the left was an unfinished project from last Christmas, I finally decided to get it finished, the ornament on the right is a design that I created for, and published in The World of Cross Stitching Magazine last year.

This week I have managed to make some progress on the Covered Cross Stitch Peacock box that I blogged about,  I am pleased with the result so far but I still need to finish off the inside.

Christmas Cross Stitch Box arrived from Marie

Look what arrived in the post for me!

This lovely Christmas cross stitch box arrived from Marie ( blog here ) and I absolutely love it!

Marie very kindly sent me the beautiful box that contained chocolates, a Mill Hill beaded cross stitch kit, some lovely Christmas buttons, ribbons and a small cross stitch chart.

Thankyou so much Marie for this lovely exchange! 

The box I sent to my partner has not arrived yet, as soon as it does I will post a picture and a free cross stitch pattern.

Freebie christmas ornament pattern.

Here is the Christmas ornament freebie I promised in my last post, the stitches around the edge with the straight lines are Algerian eyelets, you can see how to stitch these here 

The centre stitches are rhodes stitches, you can see a tutorial for this stitch  here (thanks ladies for reminding me of the name) I could not work out on my cross stitch designer how best to show it so I have left it blank, you could always put a couple of cross stitches in there to replace it if you cannot see the stitches from the original photo below.

I also don't know why the photo is not clickable, sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't, can anyone help me with this?

Christmas in June!

I have been thinking about Christmas over the last couple of weeks and decided to design a little pillow and this is how it turned out, it is quite small,  4.5cm x 4.5cm  square - green on one side and red on the other.

I stitched it using DMC threads 817 and 699 using Mill Hill gold beads for trimming, hopefully I should have the freebie cross stitch pattern on my blog sometime this week.

I have been buying some cross stitch patterns again from Little House Needlework and Country Cottage Needlework, I just love these patterns so much, and also some new linen fabric, I will show them on my next  post when they arrive!
