St Patrick’s Day Mini Cat Free Pattern

I have designed another free mini cat cross stitch pattern that’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.

It’s small enough to finish in a single afternoon (ideally with a cat napping on your lap) and cute enough to display all year round. Also includes free floss tags!

St Patrick’s Day Mini Cat Cross Stitch Pattern To stitch for St Patricks Day featuring a small black cat holding the Irish flag and orange, white and green balloons

You can find the link below for the pattern

This new addition joins the growing gallery of "lucky kittens."

If you’re looking to create a full set, be sure to check out the previous St. Patrick’s Day cat designs located further down this page!

Grab your favorite shade of emerald green floss, and let’s get stitching!

Why You’ll Love This Pattern:

  • Quick & Easy: Perfect for a "one-sitting" craft session.

  • Beginner Friendly: Uses only full cross stitches and some back stitches for the balloon strings and the lettering.

  • The Perfect Freebie: Designed to complement the earlier Irish-themed cat patterns for a cohesive look.

How to Get Started for a beginner stitcher.

Before you start stitching your lucky charm, make sure you have your supplies ready. For advanced stitchers you likely already have most of these in your craft stash!

    What You’ll Need:

    • Aida Cloth: 14-count white or ecru fabric works beautifully for this design.

    • Embroidery Floss: Shades of vibrant green, a black for the cat, and a bright orange for the flag.

    • Needle: A size 24 or 26 tapestry needle.

    • Hoop: A small 3-inch or 4-inch hoop to keep your fabric taut.

    • Scissors: For snipping your threads.

Quick Pro-Tip: If you’re planning on stitching the entire collection found below, try using a single larger piece of Aida cloth and spacing the cats out to create a festive "St. Paddy’s Kitty" sampler!

Whether you’re stitching up a tiny companion for a tiered tray or gifting a "lucky" charm to a fellow feline lover, I hope these patterns bring a bit of mischievous magic to your needles.

These little black cats prove that you don’t need a four-leaf clover to have a lucky St. Patrick’s Day—just some green thread and a little bit of "cattitude”. 😹😻

Lucky mini cat stitched

Hi everyone, St Patricks Day is soon upon us so I thought I would stitch the freebie I designed, unfortunately I was hoping to get it finished into a pinkeep but ran out of time.

Edited: You can now see the pinkeep here in this next post.

Here is a close up photo before it was fully finished into a pinkeep.

I stitched it onto 14 count aida using 3 strands of dmc, it was ever such a quick stitch.

You can get the free pattern from my blog here

Until next time, happy stitching!
