My exchange has arrived in Russia at last!

Hi everyone, I am thrilled to say that the exchange I sent to Yana in Russia on the 29 March has finally arrived, I had actually lost all hope of it ever getting there, in fact, I had made another one and was ready to post it next week!

I made the  toblerone using this tutorial here ,although it is in French the pictures are quite easy to follow, I also used some of the fabrics I bought from Shabby Fabrics in America. The cherub pattern was a free pattern from Arianne Pierre, I could not find the link to it, however a nice blogging friend sent me the pattern. For the rose detail on the toblerone I used part of a pattern from the Gazette 94 blog here, just scroll down and you will see the roses as part of this large sampler.

The polymer clay rose pins, buttons and thread holder were handmade from Fimo clay and glazed with varnish to give a shiny finish. If you wish to know how to make the roses just type in polymer clay roses on You Tube and you will see a video showing how to make them.
I used DMC floss for the cross stitch.

I have just sent another exchnage to Hazel from Quietly Stitching blog here , I will show pictures in my next post.

Happy stitching everyone and thankyou for your visit.

Ice Cream Sundae finished!

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and doing lots of stitching!
Here is my completed Country Cottage Needlework - Ice Cream Sundae finish, it was such an easy stitch, I think I am going to be doing quite a few of these designs as I really enjoyed stitching this.
Don't you think the colours are just yummy?

I have posted quite a few pictures for you to get a good close up view and get a real feel for the design.

Gosh, I could just eat some Ice Cream!
Mmmmmm!

You can buy the pattern from Sew and So in England here
and here in America, just scroll down the pages and you will find the pattern.

Stitching news
It looks like my exchange to Yana has got lost in the post, I am sooooo disappointed. I am going to wait a couple more weeks to see if it finally arrives, if not I shall have to make another one, which is so annoying!

I have started another exchange, but this one is for a lady in England, I do not think I will be as worried when I send that, but I will be using recorded delivery!

Welcome to all of my new followers this week, I hope you enjoy your visits as much as I enjoy posting the photographs of my cross stitching.

Have a happy stitchy week, thankyou for your visit!

A gift from Angela, my stash of fabrics and a work in progress........

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a lovely stitchy week.
A few months ago I decided to treat myself to a stash of gorgeous fabric from Shabby Fabrics, if you have never seen their website go check it out here. They supply over the internet from America, they arrived only about 10 days later in England  and they were worth waiting for, they are absolutely gorgeous, all of the colours blend together beautifully and every single one of the designs are really pretty.
I have bought some other colours but I will save them for another time.

Next up is the beautiful gift that I receved for my birthday from Angela, the gorgeous ribbons, a lovely Cypress bread roll and a notepad from the Victoria and Albert Museum, Angela knows I am into the Victorian era so this was perfect. I love taking tea in the garden so it will be lovely to wrap up some warm bread and eat it in the sunshine alongside a nice cup of english tea!
Thankyou Angela for the lovely gift, I love it all.

I have also been stitching a cross stitch that I started last year, it is a free pattern from the internet,
stitched 1 over 1 in red satin DMC thread.

I love the flowers and the butterflies on this.

I hope I can keep stitching things that are of interest to you all, thanks for your visit, until next time......
Happy Stitching!

Exchange from Yana and gift for a friend.

Hello everyone, I have a number of pictures to show you, the first is the lovely exchange that Yana sent me from Russia. I received this a couple of weeks ago but I did not post a picture because I thought I could post pictures of the exchange I sent to Yana at the same time.

I have also made another blue box similar to the one I made for Gladys in a recent exchange, although this one has a slightly different design, it is a birthday gift for a friend. It is very similar to what I have stitched before, but my friend likes blue and I did not have any other blue fabric.

Here is a close up of the gorgeous biscornu that Yana made, it is just beautiful!

The stitching is perfect!
Including the beautiful needlebook and the scissor fob.
The reverse side
I just love these little dolls that fit inside each other!

Thankyou Yana for a lovely exchange, you are so talented!

I hope you get your exchange soon.

Happy Birthday Diane, I hope you have a good one!

Welcome to all of my new followers, I really appreciate all of your visits and comments.

Happy Stitching!

Stitching news and gifts.

Hi everyone, it has been quite a while since my last post as I  have been quite busy over the last few weeks!

Here is my work in progress on Country Cottage Needleworks. I have actually worked on this since I took this picture and it is now nearly finished!
More pictures below

I have a couple of private exchanges arranged over the next few months which should be fun, I have just received one from my friend Yana in Russia, although I am going to wait until my next post to show the pictures, just wait until you see them, as the gifts Yana sent are  gorgeous!  I sent Yana's exchange three weeks ago and she has not received it yet, but Yana has assured me that sometimes parcels can take 4 weeks from England, fingers crossed that it arrives safely.

I had a lovely 50th birthday, I received a beautiful gift from Jill at Purple Peacock blog here, Jill is so generous, I was totally amazed at the beautiful goodies Jill sent me, thankyou so much Jill!
Enclosed were some gorgeous silk threads, pins and needles and some tatting thread.

Here are the threads close up, they are lovely colours!

Here is a picture of the beautiful card my friend Diane sent to me, isn't it lovely!
And this is the lovely bouquet of flowers my son sent to me.

My husband bought me a beautiful watch.

Here is a lovely biscornu made by Connie using one of my patterns, it actually is a pattern for a little pillow but Connie had a good idea to make it into a biscornu - it has turned out beautiful don't you think?

This is the back of the biscornu, this part was designed by Connie.
You can find Connies blog here
Until next time, have a lovely stitchy week!
